klassOS is an educational management platform developed to assist schools, teachers, and students. We do not sell your data, we do not serve advertisements, and we strictly safeguard all educational records under industry-standard encryption.

When you use klassOS (the Mobile Application or Web Portal), we collect information necessary to deliver educational and school administration services:
- Academic & Enrollment Information: Student full name, student identification number (ID), enrolled grade, section, class timetables, attendance logs, and examination grades provided by your educational institution.
- Account Credentials: School email, username, and encrypted password or secure authentication session tokens.
- Device & Diagnostic Data: Device model, operating system version, app version, and error crash logs used solely for performance troubleshooting.
2. Device Permissions & Camera Usage
Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA)
The klassOS application requests access to your device camera strictly and exclusively for scanning school-issued login QR codes to provide rapid, passwordless sign-in.
- No photos or videos are ever taken or stored on your device storage without your intent.
- No camera footage is uploaded or streamed to any remote servers.
- QR scanning executes locally on the device in real-time.
3. How We Use Collected Data
Your information is processed exclusively for school operations:
- Displaying student schedules, classroom timetables, and teacher assignments.
- Calculating academic scores, grade progression charts, and report cards.
- Authenticating users securely via QR code or credentials.
- Allowing school administrators to manage classes and student records.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We treat student and school data as strictly confidential.
- No Advertising: We never sell, rent, or monetize personal information to advertising networks.
- Authorized School Access: Academic data is only visible to the registered student, their guardians, and authorized school teachers/administrators.
- Service Providers: We use secure cloud infrastructure providers (Google Cloud / Firebase) operating under strict data protection and confidentiality agreements.
5. Data Security & Storage
We enforce strong organizational and technical safeguards:
- All network transmissions use modern 256-bit TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption.
- Sensitive authentication tokens are stored securely in the device's hardware-backed keystore (Keychain / SecureStore).
- Server access is governed by role-based access controls (RBAC) and audit logging.
6. Student & Children Privacy (FERPA / COPPA Compliance)
klassOS adheres to international student privacy principles. Accounts for students under the age of 18 are provisioned under the authorization and direction of their accredited school. We do not solicit personal information directly from minors without educational institutional consent.
7. Data Retention & Account Deletion
Users or schools may request account deletion or data correction at any time. Upon verified request by the school authority or user, associated credentials and cached personal data will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable educational retention mandates.
